This course will focus on scientific communication. Students will read primary literature, attend presentations, write reports, give oral presentations, and critique all of the above. Through all these exercises, students will get in the habit of thinking in testable hypotheses, identify what makes a good presentation, and apply this understanding to give effective presentations of their own.

COURSE OBJECTIVE
It has been said that “Science is, most of all, a grand, collective curiosity.” Indeed science is a global endeavor, with complementary and parallel research approaches being taken around the world. What connects and synthesizes these collective efforts, maximizing their impactand forward progress, is communication.

The main objectives of this course is;

-To help graduate students intentionally develop the skills they need to meet their own goals

- To develop professional skills needed for successful completion of a MSc/PhD and beyond

- To create a positive learning atmosphere in which each student feels safe

- To increase interactions between students of the same cohort and between subsequent cohorts

- To train each other to become better scientists, better teachers, and better colleagues.

- Develop presentation skills
