ELT 417 English for Specific Purposes is designed to give students a broad introduction to ESP as both a field of teaching and a specific form of language.

COURSE OBJECTIVE
Students will learn to identify the needs and purposes of learners in ESP, themselves included. Furthermore, they will be presented with a variety of forms of ESP, including EAP, EBE, and EOP, as well as Medical and Legal English, and acquire basic elements and skills of each. The course combines theory with practical sessions and exercises.
