This course aims to introduce the students to the principles of design of steel structures according to Eurocode 3. Students will be introduced with design process, from load analysis to providing cross-section for each structural element, beams, columns, members of trusses as well as bracings and secondary elements. Understanding different types of steel structural element, the way of transferring the loads, connection between same and different cross-section types and elements. Also, basic understanding of the steel-concrete composite structures, design assumptions and principles of design of composite structures according to Eurocode 4.
